Free Business Days Counter

Deadlines mean business days, not calendar days. NToolHub’s Business Days Counter counts working days between two dates, automatically skipping Saturdays and Sundays and subtracting any holidays you list. Project planners, HR teams, and freelancers get accurate timelines for quotes, leave calculations, and delivery estimates.

How to Use the Business Days Counter

  1. Pick a start date and an end date.
  2. Add holidays, one YYYY-MM-DD per line (optional).
  3. Click “Count Business Days” — weekends are excluded automatically.

Features

Automatic weekend exclusion, custom holiday lists in YYYY-MM-DD format with validation, inclusive or exclusive end date, and a full breakdown showing total days, weekend days, and holidays excluded.

Benefits & Use Cases

Accurate working-day counts prevent under-quoting project timelines and over-promising delivery dates. HR gets correct leave balances, and contractors can justify day-rate invoices with transparent math.

Tips

List holidays one per line in YYYY-MM-DD format; invalid lines are ignored. Include the end date when counting deadline spans. For recurring annual holidays, keep a saved list to paste each year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which days count as weekends?

Saturday and Sunday, the standard five-day work week. Custom weekend patterns are not currently supported.

What format do holidays need?

One per line as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-12-25. Only valid dates are counted.

Does it handle holidays that fall on weekends?

Weekend days are excluded first, so a holiday on a Saturday does not double-count. Only weekday holidays reduce the total.

Can I count backwards?

Yes. Enter the dates in either order and the tool normalizes the range automatically.
