How to Use the Working Days Calculator

  1. Pick the start date and choose add or subtract.
  2. Enter the number of working days and optional holidays.
  3. Click Calculate to land on the resulting working day.

Features

Add or subtract any number of working days from a start date, with Saturdays and Sundays skipped automatically and your own holidays - one per line - skipped too. Counting begins the day after your start date, and the result shows the landing date with its weekday so you can plan around it.

Benefits & Use Cases

Contract teams compute SLA and response deadlines, shippers quote realistic delivery dates, and HR counts notice and probation periods in working days. Project managers turn "five working days" estimates into calendar dates stakeholders understand.

Tips

Enter holidays in YYYY-MM-DD format, one per line, including regional days your whole team observes. The result’s weekday matters - a deadline landing on Friday afternoon needs different handling than one on Monday morning. To count working days between two dates instead, use the Business Days Calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from the Business Days Calculator?

This tool starts from one date and moves a number of working days forward or backward. The Business Days Calculator counts the working days between two dates you provide.

Are weekends skipped?

Yes - Saturday and Sunday are never counted as working days, and your listed holidays are skipped as well.

How do I add holidays?

List each holiday on its own line in YYYY-MM-DD format. Those dates are excluded from the count.

Does the start date count as day one?

No. Counting begins with the next day after your start date, so "1 working day" from a Monday lands on Tuesday (holidays permitting).

Can I subtract working days?

Yes - choose Subtract to walk backwards to a date N working days earlier, useful for "due 5 working days before" calculations.

Is it free?

Yes - free with no sign-up, running entirely in your browser.
