Free Business Days Calculator
Deadlines, delivery estimates and project plans run on business days, not calendar days. Pick a start and end date, add your own holidays, and this free calculator counts only Monday-to-Friday working days - instantly, with a clear breakdown of what was counted and what was skipped.
How to Use the Business Days Calculator
- Pick the start and end dates.
- Optionally list holidays, one per line, to exclude them.
- Click Calculate Business Days to see the count and breakdown.
Features
Saturday and Sunday are excluded automatically, and you can paste in your own holiday dates - one per line - so regional or company-specific days off are skipped too. An optional toggle includes the end date in the count for "due on" deadlines. The result breaks down total calendar days, business days, weekend days and holidays, so you can audit exactly how the number was reached.
Benefits & Use Cases
Project managers turn "three weeks" into a real delivery date, HR teams count notice periods and probation lengths correctly, and freelancers quote turnaround times clients can trust. Logistics planners use it to set realistic dispatch windows, and anyone negotiating a contract deadline can verify the working-day count in seconds.
Tips
List holidays in YYYY-MM-DD format, one per line - and remember that public holidays differ by country and region, so add the ones that apply to you. Tick "include the end date" when the deadline day itself counts as a working day. For adding a number of working days to a single date, use the Working Days Calculator instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a business day?
Monday through Friday, excluding any dates you list as holidays. Saturday and Sunday are never counted as business days.
How do I exclude holidays?
Type or paste each holiday on its own line in the holidays box, in YYYY-MM-DD format (for example, 2026-12-25). Those dates are removed from the count automatically.
Does the count include the end date?
By default it does not. Tick "Include the end date in the count" if the final day should be treated as a working day - useful for deadlines that fall on the end date itself.
What is the difference between business days and working days?
They mean the same thing here: Monday-to-Friday days excluding holidays. If you want to add a number of working days to a single date instead of counting between two dates, use the Working Days Calculator.
Can I use holidays from any country?
Yes. The holiday list is fully manual, so you can enter public holidays, company shutdowns or personal days off from any country or organization.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. All calculations happen locally in your browser, and nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
